Storytelling has been at the heart of pretty much everything Ben Marlow has done.

He started making music young, playing in bands from thirteen before finding himself rapping on stages, punching way above his weight in a group consisting of three 15-year-olds from Maidenhead. It established something that has followed him ever since: the need to make things, tell stories and surround himself with creative people.

Photography and filmmaking followed. Ben went on to establish one of the pioneering wedding cinematography companies of its time, with the work taking him around the world filming people, places, cultures and celebrations.

That same curiosity led through fashion and commercial photography, portraiture, campaigns and documentary filmmaking. As a Director of Photography, his work has appeared on Netflix, while documentary projects have allowed him to explore people, identity, culture and the societal issues shaping the way we live.

Education has become another part of that story. Working with young people and emerging creatives, Ben uses photography, film, music and storytelling to encourage confidence, curiosity and creative voice — less about teaching the ‘right’ way and more about giving people the tools and space to find their own.

Today, those threads come together at BEN&JACK STUDIO. Part studio, part workshop and part oversized playground, it's a place for photography, film, music, education, experimentation and collaboration.

The medium may have changed over the years, but the motivation hasn't much.
